These two 30x30 paintings are based on the photographs I took when visiting the Carso area in November 2022. This area was affected by a terrible fire in Summer 2022 in which nearly 200,000 square metres of the forest in the area (Italy-Slovenia) were burnt down. I wanted to capture the contrasting colours and textures.
